Cutting the ribbon
Opening up a new school library
Last Friday I headed down to my old primary school - spennithorne primary school, it’s always nice to go back and visit as I always found it such a friendly school and loved my time there before moving up to secondary school.
The school was opening up a new library so I was delighted to be asked back to go to the official opening and cut the ribbon, the students where so lovely and the whole afternoon was very informal with cake and coffee! I did a small talk with the children and spoke about Little Alf, I was over the moon to be presented with a large bunch of flowers from the school.
The children are now on easter break but when they return I will be donating 100+ Little Alf books to the library so they can read about his adventures. I think it's so important to encourage reading as much as possible as it's great to encourage imagination and help with language development.
